back from the ashes

I mentioned back in November that Yahoo had deleted my old homesickcure website, along with thousands of other sites hosted on the old Yahoo Geocities. Even though the site was old and I rarely updated it, it had a lot of family history, images and links that would take a lot of time to recreate, and I hadn't been diligent about backing up my work. (Or, to be more accurate, I hadn't backed it up at all.) So when the site was just deleted with no notice, it was pretty heart-wrenching.

Just recently when doing a search I discovered that there is this amazing person(s) who realized the value of the Geocities sites, and has been working to restore and recreate the Geocities pages, including mine. So, now that my old neglected site is accessible again, I'll get busy saving the information, expanding on the family history, and making it available in a new format. Stay tuned.

Thank you for the nudge; I have stuff stashed all over the net; some of it going back over 18-19 years.

Might be good for me to download it and dump it on a more secure backup of some sort.
