tell me a color story

This week's C&C Photography assignment is to tell a color story. My color is green and my story is spring/cleaning. I used bits of red as green's complement. In my photos I've juxtaposed the first sprouts of spring with a day of spring cleaning, including tidying, dusting, garage clearing, a trip to the dump, and car washing. The person shown feeding the gulls is my father - it's a photo of a framed photo of him from the 1960s -- I gave him a good dusting while I was at it!

  11. Oh, so many and all so pretty! I love the cardinal, of course, and the diptych with him and the car wash. I like the muted photo of your dad...the sweet photo of the kitty soaking up the rays with the shadows cast on his body. All the lovely greens from the brushes to the leaves. Your collage is awesome!

  18. The water on the car window! The diptych of jewelry and the plant! Your father feeding the gulls - love the blurry effect of photographing a photograph! The red bird seemingly trapped in all the branches - great texture! The rust & turquoise of the container (?)... And I LOVE your mosaic - beauty!

  24. I love your story... I kind of tried to do the project and mine was the opposite..Red with green. Yours is much more interesting! I couldn't figure out how to tie mine together. You, however, did that very well. My favorites are the grass (great light! vivid color!) and the collage at the end.

  26. These photos are marvelous. What kind of camera are you using? (if you don't mind sharing). And you reminded me to do some spring cleaning. My late father's photo is on our mantelpiece, in need of some dusting...

  27. Thank you for your very nice comment on my colour assignemtn post. I am glad you noticed the pattern-story as well.

Green is one of my favourite colours so coming here and seeing the result of your assignment work is delightful.

I am having trouble in choosing a favourite. I like so many different things in your photos. Each photo has something special about it. Like:
    # 3 drak & mellow
#7 love how the light falls upon it and enhances or underscores the round shape
#8 love the composition and how the colours makes it look dreamy and nostalgic
    #10 crisp
    And the lines in # 12, 13, 14 + the soft light in 13

as you see i wouldn't be able to choose :-)
