Another late afternoon in a historic cemetery 

listening to the stones speak 

and following the slant of light.

golden afternoon sun

graveyard steeped in history

birds keeping vigil

perched on lichen-covered stones

adorned with widow's weeds

 This little sparrow first alit on the stone

 and then appeared to be grieving the dead

Being afraid of heights

And fried dough

I went to the carnival 

just to hear the screaming

and see the spinning neon lights.

Who says bubbles are just for kids?  My 17-year old daughter and her boyfriend seemed to like them just fine.  I may have played with them a little myself.   Simple pleasures...

I'm taking part in the month-long Picture Color workshop, so this week I wanted to create a rainbow of images from the recent past, and see how many colors you can spot.  I wish I could say I have a favorite, but each color touches and delights me in a different way.  What's your favorite?
