paley pocket park
I accidentally left this photo out of my last post on our trip to New York City, but this little unassuming park is an important place in my life. Located on 53rd Street, it's a little pocket park that was built on the site of the Stork Club. Next door was the original Museum of Broadcasting, where my career as a librarian really began. I spent my days helping people find old TV and radio shows to watch or listen to, and getting the chance to meet some of the pioneers of radio and TV. At lunchtime we'd sit in this park, which has a waterfall in the back, and read, eat, and soak up the energy of the city. It was wonderful to see it again, essentially unchanged. Your can read more about it HERE.
